Shearer's first steps out on the pitch of a top flight
game at Stamford Bridge. He came on as a substitute helping
the Saints hold on to a precious away win.

Alan would have to wait a few more weeks to make his
full debut. When he did, he rewrote the history books famously
scoring a hat-trick against Arsenal.
Final Appearance:
Arsenal 5-1 Southampton (May
2nd 1992)
Alan ended the 91-92 season as Southampton's leading scorer
and a full international. The season ends with a disappointing
result at Highbury, but the Saints didn't have much to play for
anymore.
