UMBRO
-
www.umbro.com
Alan has been associated with Umbro ever since he was 17, during his
Southampton days. Just after Shearer's debut for the Saints, Jack
Hixon wrote to the company asking if they would be willing to
provide Alan with some gear. They answered by sending over three
pairs of boots, and things simply developed from there.
Over the years, Alan has had offers from other sportswear
companies but always decided to stay loyal to Umbro who had helped
when he was a "nobody".
Alan's loyalty was in its turn rewarded in 98 when Umbro offered
him a staggering new 15 year contract, making him a worldwide
ambassador for the firm.

CONTINENTAL
In 2004, Alan teamed up with Continental, brake systems,
chassis components, vehicle electronics, tyres and technical
elastomers manufacturer and one of the official partners of the 2006
World Cup. Signing a two-year contract, to help raise awareness of
the brand in the run-up to, and during the tournament.
As of September 2004, Shearer is to be lending his name to PR,
advertising and sales promotion activity and will also be making
guest appearances on the manufacturer's behalf.
Brian Smith, Managing Director, Continental Tyre Group,
said: "We are delighted that Alan - one of the greatest strikers
England has ever produced - has joined forces with Continental Tyres
to share in the excitement of this incredible sporting event.
As a consistently high performer on the pitch, Alan's legendary
skills reflect Continental's core brand values of excellence,
precision and reliability."
"My playing career may well be coming to an end, but I am
delighted to be actively involved in 'FIFA World Cup Fever' with one
of the Official Partners. As someone who prides themselves on hard
work and performance I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the
Continental Team," Alan added

LUCOZADE SPORT
Alan Shearer was the main figure in Lucozade television
adverts during the late 1990s when they first advertised the fact
that it could ‘keep top athletes going for 33% longer’.
Alan famously shot an advert at St James Park for England's
qualifying campaign for the 98 World Cup.
Over the years, Lucozade have featured other top flight
footballers in their adverts such as John Barnes, Steven
Gerrard and Michael Owen.

McDONALD'S
Alan Shearer featured in a couple of adverts for the fast food brand.
His acting talents were put to the test as he orders food from one of
the "waiters" there who had been trying to get the star's autograph
for a long time without success. Finally his dream comes true as
Shearer has to pay for his meal by signing his receipt. |

BRAUN
Manufacturer of electric shavers, power toothbrushes, hair styling
products and small appliances. |

JAGUAR
Not the worst type of sponsor to have. Jaguar and Shearer have been a
team since the mid-nineties. Providing him with a saloon and sports
car, as well as the opportunity to play golf with golfing legend,
Nick Faldo. |
